Moments ago the nominations for the 15th annual BET Awards were unveiled and some of urban music’s biggest stars landed some coveted nods.
In the highly controversial ‘Best Female Hip-Hop Artist’ category which has been dominated the last several years by Nicki Minaj, we see her go head to head with Iggy Azalea for the second year in a row alongside DeJ Loaf, Az, Tink, and Trina as well as Azealia Banks.
Upon the release of the list, Banks took to Twitter not to celebrate her nomination but to mock the award show for their continuous “favoritism” to Nicki Minaj, which Banks says is a “running joke” at this point. Peep her thoughts on the matter below.
I really hate getting nominated for @bet awards. They’re so bogus.

The female rap award at the bet awards goes to nicki every year, it’s not even a real award anymore lol it’s a bit of a running joke.

They should just nominate nicki five times with five different wigs on and pick the best picture lol

*hears barbz buzzing in the distance* *rolls up car windows* *sound of little barb heads slamming into glass* *unconscious barbs on floor*

*turns up random nicki Minaj verse* *puts car in reverse* *backs up over barbs* *blood splatters* *puts car in drive and takes off*

3,2,1 all the urban media sites gonna run a headline saying I’m throwing shots. Black media is so stupid and pointless. What a shitty cycle.
