All eyes were on Nicki Minaj and the sales of her new album ‘Pink Print’ which was initially said to be on course to sell under 180,000 for its first week of release but today comes the final numbers.

Nicki has landed her third top three album, as ‘Pink Print’ falls at #3 on Billboard with 201,000 units moved. The rapper was outdone by Taylor Swift whose hit album ‘1989’ continues to rule the charts with over 333,00 units moved last week alone.

Update: Since earlier reporting it has now been reported that Minaj’s numbers are higher than initially indicated. The rap vixen has landed at the no. 2 spot with 244,000 units in its first week, according to Billboard. Of that total consumption number, 194,000 were actual copies sold.

Following ‘Pink Print’ are two albums that are surely the silent killers on the charts as the artists surprised fans with their albums and had way less promotion than most.

Following his debut week, the week prior where he hit #1 and moved 375,00 units J. Cole now sits at no.4 with ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’ with 135,000 units (119,000 copies).

Meanwhile soul/funk crooner D’Angelo who only announced his album ‘Black Messiah’ was dropping just hours before it did and had essentially NO promotion, has landed at no.5 with 117,000 units (111,000 in sales).

Whose albums did you purchase? whose are you feeling the most?
