Chart Check: Tamia Scores Her Highest-Charting Album Ever With ‘Love Life’

Congrats are in order for R&B songstress Tamia as the singer has just scored a new feat for her long standing career. According to Billboard, After nearly 20 years on Billboard‘s various charts, singer Tamia scores her highest-charting album ever on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (dated June 27), as Love Life arrives in the No. 2 slot. It also launches at No. 1 on R&B Albums.

Love Life sold 16,000 copies in the week ending June 14, according to Nielsen Music, up 22 percent compared to the first week sales from her previous album, Beautiful Surprise. The latter set entered Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums at No. 6 in 2012. The new album’s second single “Stuck With Me” concurrently climbs 26-23 in its second week on Adult R&B Songs (up 18 percent in spins at the format). Lead single “Sandwich and a Soda” peaked at No. 20 on the airplay chart (May 23), and marked her 14th trip to the top 20.
