Remember the hype that swirled around Usher’s 2004 album ‘Confessions’, his biggest selling album to date and how everyone speculated that the song and album was inspired by real events that transpired between he and then girlfriend Rozanda ‘Chilli’ Thomas!?
Well Chilli finally opens up about it to US Weekly and says that the album in fact was NOT about her at all. The song which talked about Usher allegedly getting another woman pregnant outside of his relationship, which ultimately was the cause of his breakup, was instantly equated to be about he and Chilli seeing that at the time of the album release the two were coming out of their seemingly perfect relationship in the public eye. When quizzed on why they broke up, the two never confirmed and it was just left assumed that the song told the story. Check out Chilli’s excerpts below where she denies that there is truth to that and reveals who the song actually was about:
“We were together when he recorded that album,” “All of those songs on Confessions, that was about Jermaine Dupri’s situation. Usher was just singing it. But people kind of bought into it, it was just the timing of our breakup when the album came out.”
