Rapper/actor Common, pianist/producer Robert Glasper, and drummer/producer Karriem Riggins have joined forces to form a new group called August Greene.

The three part collective just unleashed their first single, ‘Optimistic‘ which is a modern remake of the 1991 classic made popular by Sounds of Blackness. The track features Robert and Kerriem on the instruments, Common on the rap vocals, and R&B bible, Brandy on the lead vocals.

‘Optimistic’ will appear on August Greene’s debut self-titled, Amazon Original album, scheduled for release on March 9th.
