After ending his 15-year hiatus last month with the release of his third album Black Messiah, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 singer D’Angelo is set to kick off his promo trail this month with a rare appearance at ‘Saturday Night Live’. “SNL” marks his first public appearance since the record’s release.
He will also play a show at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Feb. 7 before launching his “Second Coming Tour” throughout Europe this spring. The announcement came today that he and his band The Vanguard will serve as the musical guest on the January 31 episode of SNL while J.K. Simmons will host the show.
