Disney has unveiled the official first look at the upcoming live action “Aladdin” movie that will hit theaters next summer, and we are sooooooo here for it.
The clip arrived on Friday after being teased previously by Mena Massoud who will play as Aladdin and Will Smith as Genie. As promised the clip arrived and is pure epicness already. The new live action version is orchestrated by Guy Ritchie and is an adaptation of the classic 1992 animated film.
The film will also star Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as the villain Jafar. Earlier this year at CinemaCon, Disney executive Cathleen Taff teased Smith’s take on the Genie character that Robin Williams had memorably portrayed.
“No one can replicate the iconic performance by Robin Williams, and we wouldn’t want them to,” she said. “Let’s just say, he’s a little Fresh Prince, a little Hitch, and a whole lot of attitude.”
