Full House Set To Return for New Series in 2014?

Fullhouse

If you were an 80’s/90’s kid you certainly remember TGIF the popular ABC Friday night lineup, which consisted on the hit shows Family Matters, Boy Meets World, and Full House. Full House was cancelled in 1994 but at the time was still at the top of its game ranking in an average 11 million viewers per episode.

Then president of ABC Entertainment (now Chairman of NBC Broadcasting) – wanted to move their more mature 9pm line-up, Roseanne and Home Improvement, to 8pm. In order to do that, Full House had to be canceled. It appears though that 20 years after its abrupt cancellation, the hit show just might be returning to TV! The cast reunited earlier this year seen below but it looks like it may be a permanent return if reports are true.

FH reunion

Perez Hilton reports the shows creator Jeff Franklin did an interview with Newport Gazette and revealed the following:

Last month I was asked by ABC and [Warner Bros.] to write a new show for the Full House characters.

Everyone I’ve spoken with were very open to the idea [of returning].

Full House has been uber popular post cancellation, airing in syndication in over 11 countries, so a revival would be more than welcomed by adoring fans. It would be interesting to catch up on the characters 20 years later, and the show is said to now focus around the two oldest Tanner girls (DJ and Stephanie) and their new families

It was also revealed that the hit Boy Meets World is being revived but this time as Girl Meets World. If the TGIF lineup is coming back how about we throw Family Matters back in the mix.

Will you watch the Full House sequel?

  1. Ashley says:

I like the idea of the show returning or a “spin off.” But it doesn’t seem fair to bring it back & revolve the show around DJ & Stephanie & no Michelle. I can’t imagine the show without the Olson Twins
