If you aren’t familiar with Robert Glasper and his Robert Glasper Experiment, take notice now! The group which consists of pianist and producer Robert Glasper, bassist Derrick Hodge, drummer Mark Colenburg and saxophonist Casey Benjamin just released their new album ‘Black Radio 2’ today (October 29) and it is the follow up to their hit 2012 compilation ‘Black Radio’ which took home a Grammy last year for best R&B album.

The project is a smooth mash up of R&B, jazz, and neo-soul paired with some of urban music’s brightest and best vocalist. The set features the likes of Common, Brandy, Faith Evans, Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius, Norah Jones, Lalah Hathaway, Jazmine Sullivan, and Macy Gray JUST to name a few.

‘Black Radio 2’ picks up perfectly where its predecessor left off yet still gives you a new fresh sound. The album opens with ‘Baby Tonight(Black Radio Theme) Mic Check 2′ which sees all of the sets featured artist as they harmonize and ad lib on one track to kick the project off. It perfectly segways then into all of their individual or collaborative songs (12 for the standard version, 16 for deluxe). If you’re looking for something refreshing and not the typical radio friendly music, this is the album to get. Check out the video below for the albums first single ‘Calls'(feat. Jill Scott).
