When Craig David debuted back in 2000 with his single “Fill Me In” and its accompanying album “Born To Do It,” I instantly became a fan.

The R&B crooner came up in the ranks alongside the likes of Usher, Sisqo, and other urban crooners who were hitting the charts heavy during that time. Despite the shift in the R&B/pop landscape shortly there after, Craig went on to rack up 17 UK top 40 singles, and five UK top 20 albums, selling over 13.5 million records worldwide as a solo artist.

Well now he is back and has announced a new album, which will see him go back to his R&b roots of his first album. According to I-D Vice:

2015 was kinda the year of the Craig David comeback. It all began with his huge Fill Me In x Where Are Ü Now cover on BBC 1Xtra in December, shortly followed by the garage tune When the Bassline Drops with old friend Big Narstie. The latter became his first UK Top 40 hit in over seven years.

Now he’s making his return to the charts official, with the upcoming release of Following My Intuition — his first album in six years. It’s set to be 14 tracks long, and yes, When the Bassline Drops will be on there. Craig has hinted he’ll return to his Grime roots, and promised R&B bangers. “I’m back in that 16-year-old kid mode, hungry, passionate and making music that I’m truly proud of,” Craig told the Guardian. “I want to deliver the music that people have been asking for, for so long, following my intuition and coming from a great place.” There’s no official release date yet, but we can’t wait.

I am so here for it and am counting down for the new project! While we wait, lets reminisce.

I LOVE Craig David!! Here in America I was one of a few of my friends who knew of his music! I played the “Fill Me In” so much when my daughter was little that she knew the song in her sleep and she is now 19 years old! LOL! I am so excited to hear his return to R&B music!!
