If there’s one thing we know about singer K. Michelle, its that the outspoken performer doesn’t bite her tongue or subdue her feelings when it comes to something she feels strongly about.

During an event this week the singer spoke on the double standards of the music industry as it pertains to black artists and their white counterparts. Specifically she offered her thoughts on Adele and other blue eyed soul singers and how they are able to perform urban/R&B music and it be received by the public and sell considerably well. Meanwhile, black singers aren’t selling even a fraction of their counterparts and sometimes are discouraged and not promoted properly by their labels.

She also dished on the hypocrisy of black fans who call their own artists flops, but will go out and support Adele and other non black singers. Get into her thoughts below.
