After multiple cast changes, issues with the family and other delays the upcoming Lifetime Aaliyah bio-pic ‘Aaliyah: Princess of R&B’ now has a release date.

The film which is now being executive produced by Wendy Williams and her production company, will air on Saturday, November 15, Lifetime announced today.

As previously reported, after much flack from fans over her appearance Zendaya Coleman dropped out of the project as she was set to play the R&B starlet, but revealed that she felt uncomfortable doing the project without the blessing from the family.

The role has since been snagged by Nickelodeon actress Alexandra Shipp. Wendy Williams has promised fans that despite the families disapproval, the film will be a must see and will include all the things fans want to know including the details of Aaliyah’s relationship with R. Kelly.

We also told you that Aaliyah’s family is reportedly working on their own film now which they plan to release after Lifetime’s. No details regarding casting, production or timeline has been given on that project.
