After their public falling out earlier this year, Lil Wayne made it very clear that he was done with his former ‘Daddy’ Birdman and Cash Money Records and had plans to leave the label which he helped anchor to the top of the charts.
Well on Saturday, Wayne made a shocking announcement that has everyone talking. While on stage at KMEL’s Summer Jam at Oakland’s Oracle Arena on Saturday, Weezy made the announcement that he has teamed up with Jay Z.
“I just signed a deal with my motherfu**in’ idol, Jay Z,” he told the crowd, who cheered with approval.
It is unclear whether Wayne has signed a deal to be managed by Roc Nation or what the deal entails but he recently joined Jay’s streaming service TIDAL as a co-owner and released his single “Glory” off the upcoming Free Weezy Album through TIDAL. He will also perform an exclusive TIDAL X show for subscribers. However many are speculating that he has signed to be an artist under Roc Nation.
Wayne is still suing Birdman for $51 million for release from Cash Money Records. Check out his vague announcement below.
