Fans of singer Mary J. Blige were shocked yesterday (July 28) to hear the news of her divorce from her husband and manager of 12 years, Kendu Issacs. Now Mary has released an official statement on the matter and confirms the divorce as well as her plans to release a new album and tour this year.
“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”
Very unfortunate, but many folks are looking forward to what will likely be one of her best albums to date. As we all know, artist like Mary deliver their best work typically when going through struggle and hardships like this. Stay tuned.
