Phaedra Parks Weighs In On Cynthia Bailey vs. Porsha Williams & Thanks Kandi, Nene, Porsha For Their Support

The Real Housewives of Atlanta - Season 5

In case there was any doubt, Phaedra Parks is team Porsha Williams, and the southern belle made that very clear in a recent Bravo blog. She posted about this past Sunday’s episode where Cynthia Bailey and Porsha  sat down to discuss the falling out of their friendship over some commentary and interviews where Cynthia expressed her displeasure with Porsha and didn’t agree with her actions during the infamous reunion show brawl between she (Porsha) and Kenya Moore.

In case you haven’t been watching, Cynthia and Kenya have become BFF’s and it appears to viewers as though the allegiance is forced due to Cyn falling out with Nene Leakes and being called out as a flip flopper by some of the ladies. Well Phaedra says in the blog that her support lies with those who have supported her including Nene, Porsha and her best pal Kandi Burruss. She also says she found Cynthia’s approach to Porsha unbecoming. Check out the incident in question and peep Phaedra’s comments below.

While our show is about a group of women who socialize together, socializing does not equate to true friendship. True friends delight in the building up of one another rather than bashing each other. Throughout my tumultuous situation it has been Porsha’s sweetness,NeNe’s constant support and advice, coupled with Kandi’s steadfast friendship that has sustained and comforted me.

The exchange between Porsha and Cynthia during this week’s episode was disappointing. I have always thought of Cynthia as a nice person, but her behavior last night was unbecoming. Porsha was late and I understand Cynthia’s frustration. However, as Porsha’s elder, Cynthia should be setting an example. None of us are perfect, but we can all strive to be better. Also, timing and tone are often more important than the content of a message. It is unfortunate that the content and intention of the communication were lost due to a distracting tone and premature timing.

We often hear the old adage “it takes a village”; however we don’t often stop to take an inventory of who the members of our personal village are. I am truly grateful for the support of my village. Amongst many things, I am immensely grateful for a super supportive family, who always shower me with unconditional love. As I observe the resilient nature of my children, I am reminded that we are all designed to survive. I am humbled, inspired, and extremely thankful for true, thoughtful friends who consistently encourage me and lift me up in both good and trying times. As I dwell in the perfect peace promised to each of us by our Lord and Savior, it is my hopes that, through service, I will give to others what my village has given to me. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Holidays,
Phaedra
