Jay Z is constantly making moves to change the industry and reportedly this evening he will make his biggest move yet. The mogul will launch the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial according to the official website.

The service will reportedly snag new releases by some of the biggest musicians of the moment including Kanye West, Madonna and Daft Punk, ahead of rival services like Spotify and Beats. Mr. Carter will be holding a press conference  at 5pm Eastern time today, where he “will announce a commitment to a new direction for the music industry from both a creative and business perspective.” While there is not much detail being provided officially, unofficially the company will be using the event to confirm the first big-name artists to stream music exclusively on the Tidal platform.

If you have frequented social media today you may have seen your fave artists making their twitter default pics all blue and promoting the movement with the hashtag #TidalForAll. Rihanna even took to Twitter to shut down rumors that her new album would be debuting via the Tidal service.

Tidal will cost $9.99 a month for standard sound quality and $19.99 a month for Lossless High Fidelity sound quality and is set to be financially beneficial and provide better returns to the artists. The service will rival Spotify and other providers.
