After a few days of being dragged on social media by the Beyhive and having her daughters threatened via their personal social media accounts, Rachel Roy is finally speaking out about the speculation (which she added fuel to) that she is the infamous “becky with the good hair” as sung about on Beyonce‘s new album Lemonade.

Despite the fact that she posted a photo on Instagram with a caption that insinuated that she was the woman Beyonce sings about on “Sorry” for having an alleged affair with Jay Z while Bey’s HBO special was airing, Rachel now says that she is not that woman and that her post was all in good fun.

“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest,” she revealed in a statement to PEOPLE. “My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.”

She went on to discuss the “bullying” that she and her family have endured this week as a result of Bey’s fans believing that she was the homewrecker in their marriage.

“Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats,” she added. “As a mother—and I know many mothers would agree—I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable.”

“I would hope that the media sees the real issue here—the issue of cyber bullying—and how it should not be tolerated by anyone.”

Her official statement comes after a tweet she posted earlier this week, addressing the issues negative backlash she received.

Rachel isn’t the only one speaking out regarding the Lemonade aftermath. Singer Rita Ora, who was also accused of possibly being “becky” this week is opening up on the possibility that she too has had a relationship with Jay Z that is more than on a professional level.
