As I told you HERE last week, Adele‘s new album “25” which went on sale Friday (Nov 20) was predicted to welcome astonishing first week sales and could possibly dethrone previous “best first week sales” king N’Sync. Well it looks as though the UK singer is actually on course to do just that.

The group opened up to 2.42 million sold for their sophomore album “No Strings Attached” over 15 years ago in 2000. Final numbers won’t be known until the end of the week but Adele is projected to sell at least 2.5 million in pure album sales its first week and already sold more than 900,000 copies ALONE via iTunes on its first day of release. Just astonishing!!!

With very little promotion, only a month notice of her return and no heavy roll out or advertising partnerships how is Adele able to sell so many records in this day and age when albums simply don’t sell like they used to?

A natural question that has been asked many times is why is that urban acts who have been singing the same style of soul music for years aren’t able to achieve the same feat or notoriety as their blue eyed soul counterparts? Is it simply a question of preference by the masses and record buying public or is there more to it? Sound off, let me know your thoughts.
