On Christmas Eve, fans of Janet Jackson (myself included) were delivered a big blow when it was revealed that the singer would be postponing her “Unbreakable Tour” for the next few weeks into 2016 due to a medical condition which would require vocal surgery.

Following her vague post, many fans were left clueless as to what exactly was going on until now. On Tuesday (Jan 5) Yahoo News issued a report claiming that JJ is actually undergoing tests for possible throat cancer. This has not been confirmed by Janet or her team, but get into the report below:
It has been reported that superstar Janet Jackson is currently undergoing tests for throat cancer.
The report comes after the 49-year-old singer revealed that she had no choice but to postpone the first dates of the next leg of her ‘Unbreakable World Tour’, which was due to kick off on January 9th, as she needed to undergo surgery.
It is now being claimed that doctors have discovered a tumour on her vocal chords.
A source revealed: “Doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal chords that could be serious
“It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.”
In spite of the very serious health scare, Janet is said to be optimistic about hitting the road later on in the year, with the insider adding to RadarOnline: “Janet said she knows that with prayers and her will, she’ll be back out on the road in the spring or early summer.”
Janet previously postponed shows in October in order to rest her voice, and doctors have now sadly warned that if she is battling cancer then she might be left unable to sing.
Speaking to the site, Dr. Stuart Fischer explained: “God forbid that this should be cancer of the larynx. That would abruptly end her ability to ever perform again. Singing would be impossible.
“Surgery would be very complex, and followed by months of radiation treatment.”
Janet tried to remain upbeat as she posted a statement explaining why she had to postpone her tour on her website, writing: “Hey you guys…Happy Holidays to each and every one of you!
“I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the ‘Unbreakable Tour’ until the spring.
“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time…There will be no further comment.”
Needless to say if the news is true, I am heartbroken! Wishing a speedy recovery to Janet for whatever it is she is dealing with. Meanwhile we will wait to hear it from her lips, as she has previously advised fans.
