The levels of disrespect that you receive for standing up for injustice in this country, apparently appear to be growing on the daily. With each day, the Colin Kaepernick led silent protest of sitting or kneeling during the pledge of allegiance, is gaining steam on national levels.

Several other teams and high profile NFL players have followed his lead (which kicked off on Aug. 26) when he refused to stand during recent games while the anthem is recited to bring awareness to police brutality and social injustice.

Despite the fact that Kaepernick has made it very clear that his message is not anti military or anti America (it is about the INJUSTICES that African American’s continue to face in this country after decades), some refuse to get the message and would rather protest his actions.

A local city cigar lounge is getting a lot of attention on social media coverage after they used Colin’s jersey as a doormat.  According to reportsThe Man Cave cigar bar has duct-taped the San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s jersey to the ground right outside the front door in response to the San Francisco 49er quarterback’s national anthem protest.

In response, a customer of The Man Cave Cigar Lounge on Marina Bay Drive came up with the jersey idea on Friday, Sept. 2, as the business prepared for its third anniversary celebration, General Manager Clint Denny said.

Another customer assisted with the installation, and for the next week the public response was quiet.

“Everybody who walked in would kind of wipe their feet on it,” Denny said.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, another customer, Chad Melanson, posted a photo of the display on Facebook, and by Monday the post had been shared more than 26,000 times.

Apparently in this country you can boo our President, and rage against people who call out social injustice and police brutality, and be considered “pro-America,” but when you stand up for social injustice, racism, and police brutality, you are un-American…okay.

Despite the hate and backlash, Colin has become the most talked about player in the NFL prompting sky rocketing sales of his jersey. According to Forbes, he has become the top selling jersey for the entire league. Via Forbes:

Colin Kapernick is not even listed as the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers as of September 6, but there is no player in the National Football League selling more jerseys than the backup QB. As of this morning, the top seller on NFLShop.com is a Kaepernick Nike Scarlet Game Jersey, besting Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham as the most popular jersey leading into the 2016 NFL regular season.

Kaepernick’s jersey was the 20th best seller among 49ers players before he refused to stand for the National Anthem. His jersey is now the top seller among all NFL players. More Kaepernick jerseys have been sold in a week since he protested standing for the National Anthem than thepast eight months combined.

On September 4, Kapernick was the third best selling jersey on NFLShop.com. One day later, his jersey was sitting in second place. Today it is in the top spot, just as the regular season kicks off on September 8.

Colin has donated 100% of the earnings from the jersey sales to organizations that support combating social injustice in this country.

“I wasn’t expecting my jersey sales to jump to number one because of this, but it shows the people’s belief that we can achieve justice and equality for ALL!” he stated on the sales spike.

“The only way I can repay you for the support is to return the favor by donating all the proceeds I receive from my jersey sales back into the communities!” he continued.

Keep up the good work Colin!
