The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has everyone talking after crowning Beyonce with the “Fashion Icon Award” for 2016 on Monday night (June 6) and many are on the fence of if she was the right choice or not. Many folks had no idea what the award was even for, but still opted to give an opinion on their recipient.
One person in particular who the people feel was snubbed once again after being snubbed by CFDA for a few years now, is Lil Kim. Many disgruntled fans took to Twitter to flood the CFDA page with messages in favor of Kim being the long overdue winner of the coveted award. Kim’s innovation in fashion over the past 20 years and trendsetting status in Hip Hop and fashion overall, has fueled the opinion that she should be a recipient.
