While scrolling through Facebook on late Sunday evening, I came across a video that was being shared quite frequently by many of my friends in my list. The video was of a female “rapper”, who looks as though she would fit right in with the cast of any of the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchises (specifically ATL or Hollywood). I would later find out after a quick poll that the rap vixen goes by the name Veronica Vega.
The Cuban-Venezuelan-American singer is the protégé of Miami hip-hop superstar Pitbull and super producer Polow Da Don. Vega apparently has had moderate success with her 2013 single ‘Wicked’ which featured Pitbull himself. However this obviously isn’t the song that caught my attention.
‘Pay Me’ is a raunchy sexually fueled female anthem aimed at every young bad bitch, stripper, go getter, club going, money maker or gay male who loves to twerk to a catchy beat and memorable hook. The song although repetitive is sooooooo bad that its sooooooo good! I instantly downloaded the single after watching the raunchy video about 100 times, and following Vega on twitter. A new fan I definitely am.
We are dubbing this one of the songs of the summer, and it is destined to become the 2015 ‘My Neck, My Beck’. Want to see what all the fuss is about, get in below.
