This past week, Lil Kim celebrated the 20th anniversary of her first album, ‘Hardcore’ and her monumental arrival in the game as the Queen Bee of Hip Hop. Not only was Kim celebrated by her fans on social media as they shared images and messages of support and love for her over 20 years in the game, but she was also honored by some of her peers as well.

On Wednesday (Nov. 16), she was honored as a WEEN Icon at the 6th annual WEEN (Women in Entertainment Empowerment) Awards at Espace in New York City. Other honorees included Meagan Good, music executive Ethiopia Habtemariam, actress Yara Shahidi, Teen Vogue editor Elaine Weltheroth, executive Dia Simms, and Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of Sandra Bland.

Teyana Taylor, who recently performed in the tribute to Kim at the ‘VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens’ this summer, was also honored. Kim took to the stage to accept her award and also showed Teyana major love. Get into her speech below.
