Nicki Minaj is under fire from social media and even her fans this week, after video surfaced on her own social media accounts, showing her reportedly poking fun at a mentally ill woman in Miami.
In the clip, Nicki can be seen taunting the older woman as she walks down the street away from Nicki’s car as the rapper yells for her. Get into it below.
Well following the release of the video, Nicki is being blasted by her own barbs and a mental heath organization who is not happy with the rapper. According to TMZ:
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-Miami) is sounding off, just like several of Nicki’s fans, saying the clip is an invasion of the woman’s privacy, which dehumanizes her.
NAMI says it’s pissed Nicki’s used her fame — she has 70 million IG followers — to influence young people in a negative manner. A rep for NAMI says, “Nobody would make fun of a cancer patient, and mental illness is an illness like any other.”
Several comments on the video claim it’s well-known in South Beach the woman in the video is mentally ill. In Nicki’s defense, it’s entirely plausible she didn’t know that … plus, she never says anything nasty to the woman.
Well, on Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show‘ during ‘Hot Topics,’ the daytime diva also sounded off on the mater, calling Nicki an “insensitive bitch” for poking fun at someone with mental illness. Get in around the 16:15 mark of the video below.
