Usher finally dropped his new album ‘Hard II Love‘ and it is by far one of his best albums to date in the past few years. Certainly leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor, 2012’s ‘Looking For Myself’.

Unfortunately for the R&B vet, the new set will bring in his lowest first week sales to date according to early estimates from Hits Daily Double. The ever accurate source on album sales, has revealed that the set which was released 3 days early as a TIDAL exclusive before being available everywhere this Friday (Sep. 16) will pull in 25-28k copies in the first week (20-23k pure sales).

It’s no secret that the album suffered its on set of hurdles including delays, failed singles (Good Kisser, She Came To Give It To You), and album title changes (UR, Flawed) over the past two years before it finally arrived on Friday. In this musical climate, album delays such as this can surely kill any album, despite the fact that the end result is one of his best bodies of work.

Final numbers won’t arrive until later this week but here is hoping that a stellar tour is in the works as well as releasing some of the album’s standout cuts (Bump, Make You a Believer, etc.) as singles/videos

Elsewhere in Usher news, the singer stopped by ‘The Breakfast Club‘ this morning (Sep. 19) to dish on the album, his recent star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, whether he thinks he is relevant in music right now, and much more. Get in below.
