Amerie fans have been waiting tirelessly for new music from the singer, and it appears that they might be getting their wishes granted.
The R&B belle recently sat down for an interview with Questlove for his iHeart podcast ‘Questlove Supreme’. She dished on her career, industry, and label drama, which prompted her to take a hiatus from the game, and much more.
A highlight from the over two-hour chat came when quizzed on new music, to which Amerie revealed she has just begun the process of working on a new album.
The project which would be her first since her 2018 EP’s ‘After 4AM’ and ‘4AM Mulholland’ is being crafted with a surprise producer who she couldn’t name.
“I’m just now beginning working on the next album,” she shared after relaying she’s also dropping a novel in 2025.“I just had a conversation with a producer I won’t name just yet, and we were like ‘okay we gotta get in and play.’”
However, when asked whether she would be working with Rich Harrison, who brought her to the world and gave us her masterpiece debut ‘All I Have’ and the sophomore ‘Touch’–Amerie revealed that the two have not been in touch.
She teased that a reunion was not an unlikely possibility.
We haven’t spoken in a long time…as of today…there’s always [potential for us to reunite],” she shared. “I just literally have to [call him].”
