
Singer Angie Stone has passed away at the age of 63 following a tragic accident on Saturday morning.
Her rep Deborah R. Champagne confirmed to TMZ that the songstress left a performance in Montgomery, Alabama early Saturday morning (March 1) when she was killed in a car crash.
Champagne revealed that she had just spoken to Stone hours before the accident. Angie’s daughter, Diamond Stone also took to social media on Saturday to confirm the news.
Angie rose to fame as a member of The Sequence — the first all-female group signed to Sugar Hill Records.
She later embarked on a solo career in the late 1990s and rose to fame with her debut album “Black Diamond” and released hits such as “No More Rain (In This Cloud),” “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” “Brotha” and more.
Angie is survived by her son Michael, daughter Diamond, and 2 grandkids.
