After weeks of the ongoing drama, Anita Baker has officially parted ways with Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds as the special guest for her ‘The Songstress Tour’ and will continue her tour alone.
The announcement came on Tuesday via her Twitter where she revealed that the decision was made due to her “Enduring Cyber Bulling/Verbal Abuse & Threats of Violence” from Babyface’s fans.
Before we get to that though, the drama started weeks ago when Babyface took to social media to reveal that Ms. Baker and her team had asked him not to perform on only the second night of their tour after the show started late and they wanted to give Baker more time to perform her full set
The revelation from Babyface stirred up a ton of drama with fans and music peers taking to social media to defend his honor against Ms. Baker’s alleged diva antics that many cited as decades-old behavior.
Many fans took to Twitter to recall that Baker has always allegedly been difficult to work with and had past issues with tour mates, Luther Vandross and Maxwell.
However, despite the hiccup, Babyface returned to the tour for the next performance and seemingly things had been patched up with Ms. Baker.
Then things went left again. Ms. Baker returned to Twitter to begin responding to her critics over the Babyface drama and alleged past drama with Vandross and Maxwell.
Things got so intense, she began to accuse those commenting of being online bullies and fans of Babyface’s who she dubbed ‘Kenny’s Crazies’–and asked the singer to call off his fans.
Well as of Tuesday, Baker took back to Twitter to reveal that she has released Babyface from the tour at this time and she will continue solo.
Babyface has released an official statement just moments ago on his social media accounts.
Very unfortunate!
