Anita Baker Previews Hot New Music Ahead of Upcoming Nationwide Tour [Extended Snippet]

Posted January 10, 2023

Fans of the one and only Anita Baker have been waiting for quite some time for new music from the living legend, and it appears that now the songstress is finally ready to deliver.

The 8-time Grammy-winning superstar took to her Twitter account late Monday evening (Jan. 9) to preview some new music which is presumably from her forthcoming project.

The last time fans heard new music from Baker was via her 2012 remake of Tyrese’s classic hit ‘Lately’ which was set to appear on her then-titled album ‘Only Forever.’ The project was shelved and has yet to see the light of day, but the new preview gives hope that a full project is on the way.

Get into the fresh teaser below.

The snippet comes after the iconic performer went through a lengthy battle with her former label last year to gain ownership of her masters and urged fans to stop streaming her music until the dispute was settled.

The singer was able to resolve her issues with her label and contracts in 2022 and has been on the road performing spot dates and even did a sold-out stint in Las Vegas last year and has teased a return to Vegas for another residency.

The demand from the Vegas stint prompted her to announce her first nationwide tour in years. ‘The Songstress Tour’ will be a limited engagement kicking off in the summer of 2023 and will see her hit the road with special guest, Babyface.
