Fans have been waiting tirelessly for the return of FX‘s ‘Atlanta‘ after its production was pushed back due to the pandemic, and schedule conflicts within the cast.
Fans were delighted when it was announced that production was back up and running, and seasons 3 and 4 were being shot back to back. Fans were even more delighted to find out that season 3 would be premiering this Spring, but now there is bittersweet news.
The show’s fourth season will serve as its final as well according to FX. The news came on Thursday during the show’s TCA panel. FX chairman John Landgraf confirmed the news.
“After a four-year absence, we’re graced with the return of Atlanta. Donald Glover and his team have shot the final two seasons of the series,” said FX chairman John Landgraf. “The 10-episode third season marks the first time Atlanta will be available for in-season streaming on Hulu. The fourth and final season is slated to debut in the same manner in the fall. The new season is everything you’d expect from Atlanta – which is to say expect the unexpected. Sit back and enjoy the trip.”
In the meantime, here is the rundown for season 3.
Taking place almost entirely in Europe, Season 3 finds “Earn” (Donald Glover), “Alfred / ‘Paper Boi’” (Brian Tyree Henry), “Darius” (LaKeith Stanfield) and “Van” (Zazie Beetz) in the midst of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to.
Season 3 will debut on March 24 on FX!
