Dustin Michael of the popular 2000s boy group B5 is in love, and he’s letting the world know it!
The singer took to social media on Tuesday to drop a detailed video where he declares his love for his longtime girlfriend/transgender director, D. Smith.
In the clip, the singer says that he has known Smith for over 10 years and that he’s in a “very beautiful relationship with someone who makes me very happy.”
However, it was the recent death of transgender star Rasheeda Williams from his girlfriend’s award-winning documentary “Kokomo City”, that made him realize he wanted to celebrate his love for his woman and do it publicly instead of privately.
“I’m in a very beautiful relationship with someone who makes me very happy…my girlfriend is transgender, her name is D. Smith.”
He went on to reveal “I don’t want to be one of the men benefiting from a trans woman in private and not celebrate her publicly.” He also challenged men, specifically black men to “step up” and be who they are and to stop suppressing their feelings, emotions, and love for whoever they love to please society.
