While ratings for ‘Basketball Wives’ may have been on the fence last season, it appears the new seasons of the LA-based cast and the new Orlando spinoff have scored a major win for VH1.
Basketball Wives: Los Angeles returned for Season 11 on October 9, followed by the premiere of Basketball Wives: Orlando. After three days of viewing, the episodes hit just over a million viewers, which is quite a sizable audience for the Paramount Global network.
Basketball Wives: LA was up 41% in L+3 ratings to a 0.52 — compared to a 0.37 in the 18-49 demographic in L+SD. In all, the episode drew about 203,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo.
According to the network, Basketball Wives: Orlando managed to retain about 62% of its predecessor’s demo audience, delivering a 0.34 rating.
In three days of delayed viewing, the premiere grew its audience by about 55%.
On social media, the franchise also performed well. Basketball Wives: LA ranked as the No. 2 reality series on cable that day with 2.6M video views, up 90% compared to Season 10.
Basketball Wives: Orlando took the cake as the No. 1 most social reality series on cable in terms of total interactions. According to Paramount Global, the series generated nearly 40,000 interactions and 503,000 video views across platforms. It was the second most social reality series across all of TV behind only NBC’s flagship series The Voice.
