BET struck gold with the Carlos King and Todd Tucker produced 2021 series ‘BET Presents The Encore,’ and now the series has been greenlit for a second season.
The show chronicled 9 former R&B girl-group members & recording artists as they formed a supergroup to create an album within 30 days.
The series starred Shamari Devoe (of Blaque), 702 sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead, solo singer Nivea, Cherish twins Fallon & Felisha King, Pamela Long (of Total), Danity Kane‘s Aubrey O’Day, and Kiely Williams (of 3LW & The Cheetah Girls).
Ultimately, several ladies left the group during the process and the final members included Shamari, Kiely, Fallon & Felisha, and Pam as they became the supergroup named BluPrint. They also released their group EP project following the final episode. Pam ultimately left the group as well following their finale performance.
The show was a huge success for BET bringing in over 2.5 million viewers in its premiere across all BET-related networks. Now fans will be able to get more drama when the series returns later this year.
Todd Tucker took to social media to confirm the news of the second season pickup.
No word on complete casting for season 2 but it is reported that new ladies will be in the mix as part of the cast. We also previously told you that Coko of SWV chatted with Carlos King last year and teased that she would like to serve as a house mother role if the show returned.
