Could Britney Spears be headed to the Superbowl Halftime show in 2016? Well according to a new but unconfirmed report quite possibly. One of the singers fan site posted the rumor this week:
It’s reported Thursday that the 33-year-old pop star is in talks to provide some of the live entertainment at the NFL’s showpiece game in February 2016 in the San Francisco Bay area. It comes as the Toxic singer continues to sell out her Britney: Piece Of Me show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Britney, who’s had hits with Oops!… I Did It Again and Baby One More Time, believes her Sin City success makes it the right time for a new challenge, an insider tells the National Enquirer.
‘She’s ready to do something massive,’ according to the tabloid’s unnamed source.‘She’s definitely doing a part in the Super Bowl halftime show next year. The details haven’t totally been worked out yet, but it will be huge.’
According to the insider, Britney will be joined on stage by a number of famous friends, including most likely Wrecking Ball hitmaker Miley Cyrus since the two share a management team.
This should be quite interesting as the set marks the 50th Halftime show in the history of Superbowl so its sure to be big and will probably feature multiple performers.
Elsewhere in Spears news, the pop star is covering the new issue of Billboard and dished on recording her new album and says she is in no rush to release it as she is focused on family time right now.
“I’m gonna do [a new album] slowly but surely,” Spears tells Billboard for their latest cover story, on stands Friday, March 13. “There’s a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I’m gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it’s not my full priority right now.” The mother of sons Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8, then added with a laugh, “Kids can drive you crazy.”
As we previously reported Iggy Azalea revealed that she and Britney had worked on a song but could not reveal any details on the material or when or how fans would hear it.
