Following an intense exchange between Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood following the backlash surrounding Piers Morgan and his comments about Meghan Markle on Wednesday’s episode of ‘The Talk,’ CBS has launched an internal review into the matter and many are calling for Osbourne’s termination.
“We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace,” the network said in a statement provided to PEOPLE on Friday night. “All matters related to the Wednesday episode of The Talk are currently under internal review.”
We previously told you that former ‘The Talk’ co-host Holly Robinson Peete also came forward and revealed that she too had a racist experience with Osbourne when she suggested that Peete was “too ghetto” to be a host on the show. Shortly thereafter, Peete was fired unexpectedly with no explanation as to why.
Osbourne shot back at Peete’s claims this weekend by sharing an email she received from Peete following her departure which seemingly Osbourne attempted to use as a way of saying that Peete’s claims were baseless b/c they were on good terms after she left.
New York-based Journalist, Yashar Ali took to social media to reveal that he was also aware of Peete’s claims against Osbourne for years and that they are indeed factual. He also shot down, Osbourne’s attempts to discredit Peete and any claims that she is racist. Ali reveals that Osbourne has a history of racist and toxic behavior and off-color comments.
Comedian/actress Amanda Seales took to Instagram to share screenshots and video of Ali’s tweets, and receipts, as well as video of comments that Osbourne has made previously.
