After months of speculation, and rumors of a major cast shakeup, Cynthia Bailey confirmed on Monday (September 27) that she will not be returning to ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ after 11 seasons on the show.
The news comes just weeks ahead of the ladies reportedly beginning filming for their upcoming 14th season of the show. She shared the news in an emotional Instagram post.
“After much thought and consideration, I have made the very difficult and heartfelt decision not to return for the next season of [The] Real Housewives of Atlanta. Thank you NBC Universal, Bravo, and Truly Original for over a decade of partnership. I can’t wait to see what we do next!” she wrote. “Thank you to my [The] Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates for eleven of the most unbelievable years of my life; and the most incredible & UNFORGETTABLE memories! I am so grateful to have had this amazing journey, and I am anxiously waiting to embark on new adventures. Most importantly, THANK YOU to my fans! I could not have done it without your blessings, love, and support. Without the fans, none of this would be possible. I love and appreciate all of you. It’s time to move on to my next chapter, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you. See you guys soon!”
The confirmation comes after weeks of reporting that Cynthia was officially being let go from the cast, while Sheree Whitfield is set to return alongside Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Drew Sidora, and Marlo Hampton who will now hold a peach for season 14.
Porsha Williams is reportedly still not confirmed to return as she is focusing on her solo spinoff and other endeavors. There are rumblings that former Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross is also set to join the show for season 14.
Fans can still catch Cynthia when she appears on the upcoming ‘Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip’ spinoff series set to air this fall on Peacock.
