Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin set social media on fire yesterday with the announcement that they were calling it quits after 9 years of marriage, sending their fans into a frenzy.
Divorce papers were filed Monday by Franklin at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in LA; the couple were married in 2012 and have no children together.
The couple met on the set of the film ‘Jumping The Broom’ in 2011. They were engaged in May 2012 and got married in June 2012. They have held various panels on relationships, love, and marriage, and even wrote a book together titled “The Wait” in 2015 where they dished on their commitment to celibacy before marriage.
The beloved couple has now issued a statement on the divorce.
“After much prayer and consideration we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected.
We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal.
There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.
We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife.
We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”
No word on the cause of the split, but our prayers are with both DeVon and Meagan.
