Dwyane Wade is not here for the hate he’s been receiving on social media regarding a photo that he shared of his family over the Holiday break that has been receiving a lot of negative feedback–and we aren’t here for it either.
In the family snap, Dwayne poses alongside his wife, Gabrielle Union, and their daughter Kaavia James and their second-youngest child Zion Malachi Airamis. Zion is seen showing off long fingernails as well as a cropped top tee.
The snap instantly drew in a lot of critique (like below) from followers who took to the comments and social media to bash Dwayne and Gabby’s decision to allow Zion to wear nails and the crop top.
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH MEN THESE DAYS? WOMEN. NOT WHOLESOME WOMEN BUT EVIL WOMEN. EXAMPLE: DWAYNE WADE. HE GETS WITH GABRIEL UNION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HE STARTS WEARING SKINNY JEANS AND STARTS ALLOWING HIS SON TO BE GAY. HE HAS BECOME THE POSTER BOY FOR THE LGBTQ. WEAK! pic.twitter.com/r0pqlivGVZ— Therealest (@Thereal52320704) December 1, 2019
As you recall, the two have been very vocal about Zion being part of the LGBTQ community–and have celebrated it very vocally. The family even allowed Zion to attend gay pride in Miami earlier this year and shared their snaps and footage on social media.
Well following the most recent family snap this week, the comments were flooded with negativity and toxicity–prompting Dwayne to respond.
I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo. Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it. But here’s the thing—I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile! ✌🏾— DWade (@DwyaneWade) November 30, 2019
Despite the negative, there was a lot of support from followers who championed Dwayne for accepting his child and supporting him and not allowing society to dictate how he raises his children.
As a parent my only goal is that my kids feel that i see them , love them and support them. https://t.co/ZrJp9WFdbi— DWade (@DwyaneWade) November 30, 2019
