Fatman Scoop Dies At 53 After Collapsing Onstage+ Missy Elliott, Ciara & More Share Their Condolences

Fatman Scoop, (born Isaac Freeman) the rapper and legendary voice who worked with Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and many more, has died at 53.

While the cause of death is not yet known, his death comes after he suffered a medical emergency during a performance on Friday night in Hamden, Connecticut.

Scoop was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, after collapsing on stage in front of fans in attendance.

Video shared by TMZ shows the rapper collapsing onstage around 8:30 pm before people rushed over to administer CPR.

Scoop’s manager Michael Birch confirmed his death Saturday morning with a heartfelt tribute. “It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, Known professionally as Fatman Scoop,” he wrote in a statement. “You taught me how to be the Man I am today. I Love you Scoop, Thank you so much for everything you gave to me. Rest In Peace.”

He was known for his appearances on the 2005 singles ‘Lose Control’ by Missy Elliott and ‘It’s Like That’ by Mariah Carey to name a few. 

His peers began flooding social media following the news of his passing.
