Following her Superbowl 50 Halftime show performance of “Formation” back in February and the songs accompanying video which was an ode to black culture, the black lives matter movement and injustices the black community face at the hands of the police, many took offense to Beyoncé‘s public declaration during the live airing.
There was a protest organized outside of the NFL headquarters, and police departments around the country began a ‘Boycott Beyoncé’ initiative, refusing to provide their services when the singer would come to their respective towns, due to what they said was her “anti police” message. Well Bey never responded to the backlash but now she is, and is using her to tour to do so.
The singer kicked off her “Formation World Tour” this week and is giving a big middle finger to her haters and detractors. The singer reportedly is selling ‘Boycott Beyoncé’ merchandise including tees and iphone cases at her tour stops. The tee is priced at $45 and the iPhone case costs $25.
