FOX had ratings home run with its no.1 show ‘Empire‘ this past season and now the show’s second season return has been confirmed to arrive this fall.
Per FOX, ‘Empire’ is officially slated to return in the Fall of 2015 although an exact date was not given and will run into the following year. The hip hop drama will return to its coveted time slot on Wednesday’s as FOX’s “main event” at 9pm-10pm. It is also reported that the season will be even bigger than last as FOX has ordered more episodes so the season will more than likely have 18-20 episodes.
All of the cast members are also set to return and according to reports, including Naomi Campbell, the character of Porsha (Cookie’s assistant) and Gabourey Sidibe in the role of Lucious’ assistant. Reportedly Patti Labelle will return and as we previously told you Lenny Kravitz, Brandy, Lil Kim and other A-List stars are in talks to come on board for season 2.
Elsewhere on FOX, the networks former no.1 ‘American Idol’ is calling it quits after 15 seasons. According to reports,
FOX announced on Monday, May 11, that after 13 years, American Idol has finally been canceled. The long-running competition show will be sent off with a final showdown for the country’s hottest talent.
“American Idol will begin its 15th — and final — season this January on FOX,” the network wrote in a release. “A season-long celebratory event, American Idol XV will feature host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., as they search for the final Idol superstar and pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their Idols.”
