The Katt Williams effect continues!
As reactions continue to roll in following his viral and headline-making interview earlier this week–which you’ve likely heard of or seen already–now, one of the people Williams’ discussed in his special is reacting.
During his interview with Shannon Sharpe, Williams discussed fellow comedian Gary Owen and likened him to himself, in that Owen has been doing comedy for over 25 years at a major level and still has yet to crossover.
Katt Williams suggested that the reason for this is because, like himself, Gary Owen refuses to sell his soul.
Well, Owen seemingly is co-signing part of what Williams said. Owen took to his ‘Get Some’ podcast this week to react to Williams’ interview and revealed that he initially wasn’t sure if Katt Williams saying he wasn’t mainstream was a compliment or an insult.
He went on to reveal that after discussing it with others, he realized that Katt was complimenting him because he had not compromised his morals or standards just to become successful or “crossover” into mainstream Hollywood.
Gary goes on to detail an encounter with a man in the industry who he refused to name, but reveals that their awkward encounter “felt like a casting couch” scenario. He went on to say that the unidentified man was pursuing him sexually and seemingly offered him money in exchange for sexual favors–which he declined.
