After years of talks of a film and series based on the life of Mike Tyson, now Hulu is taking a jab at the first official series set to chronicle the legendary heavyweight boxer.
On Wednesday, the streamer unleashed the first trailer for the new eight-part series titled ‘Mike’ that is set to premiere this Summer.
Actor, Trevante Rhodes will take on the role of Mike and will be joined by other talents such as Russell Hornsby, Harvey Keitel, Laura Harrier, and Li Eubanks for the Steven Rogers and 20th Television orchestrated series.
According to Hulu the series is “an unauthorized and no-holds-barred look at the life of Mike Tyson.” It explores the tumultuous ups and downs of Tyson’s boxing career and personal life – from being a beloved global athlete to a pariah and back again. Focusing the lens on Mike Tyson, the series examines class in America, race in America, fame and the power of media, misogyny, the wealth divide, the promise of the American Dream, and ultimately our own role in shaping Mike’s story.”
