In what comes as shocking and unfortunate news, Jamie Foxx‘s sister DeOndra Dixon has died at the age of 36.

The news came from the actor himself who took to Instagram on Monday evening (Oct. 26) to announce her death, and tributed her in a heartfelt post.

It is not clear what DeOndra’s cause of death was, but PEOPLE has reported that she passed away on Oct. 19.
