Lizzo has ruffled the feathers of some pop girlies fans, and we’re totally here for it.
During a recent visit to the ‘Sibling Rivalry’ podcast, the outspoken performer shared her thoughts on Janet Jackson being the official Queen of Pop, despite longtime claims that the title belongs to Madonna.
The conversation was brought up by hosts, but Lizzo took a moment to chime in and give her input.
“I have to really clear up some sh-t because people came for me on the Internet because I said Janet Jackson is the Queen of Pop. I said Janet is the Queen of Pop, and here is why…Britney Spears is doing a Janet impression – and she said it. Janet is her diva. There were no such things as ‘Pop divas’ before Janet – she was first. She was famous when Madonna was a kid watching her on TV,”
