According to reports and confirmed by her team, the pop star suffered a medical emergency not on Wednesday, but this past weekend. Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary shared:
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection, which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” he wrote. “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.”
The singer’s highly-anticipated ‘trek the ‘Celebration Tour’ was scheduled to begin in Vancouver on July 15. Oseary’s message adds a new start date and rescheduled shows will be announced soon.
The 35-city tour was set to include stops in Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and more followed by 11 European dates in the fall.
