Following the news that Lil Nas X‘s ‘Old Town Road‘ broke the record for the longest running No.1 song in Billboard chart history, now the previous crown holder of the title has sent well wishes to the newcomer.
Mariah Carey took to Twitter on Monday to congratulate the rap-singer on breaking the record that she set alongside Boyz II Men for their 1995-96 mega hit/collaboration ‘One Sweet Day‘ which was the longest running No.1 single (tied with Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s ‘Despacito‘).
Mimi gracefully acknowledged Lil Nas X’s success while sharing a playful image of her passing him the Billboard torch.

Nas X also took to social media to acknowledge the kind gesture from the “Legend” and to celebrate his big feat. Although this isn’t their first time showing each other love.
The two sparked excitement and speculation that a collaboration was in the works days ago –ahead of the record breaking moment.
