Mariah Carey is clapping back at reports that surfaced over the weekend claiming that she and Roc Nation boss, JAY-Z had an “explosive” falling that prompted her departure from the management company.
The reports came via The Sun, who cited that the two megastars had a “huge fight” about the future of Carey’s career, which reportedly led her to seek new management.
The reports claimed that the fight was so bad that Mariah and Hov have offcially parted ways professionally and personally, but Carey took to social media herself on Monday to shut that down.
MC shared a video clip from her 1999 collaboration ‘Heartbreaker’ which featured the Hip Hop mogul.
“The only ‘explosive’ situation I’d ever ‘get into’ with Hov is a creative tangent, such as our #1 song ‘Heartbreaker’!!” tweeted Carey before referencing JAY-Z’s “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” lyric. “To the people who make up these lies I say ‘Poof! –Vamoose, sonofa*****’!”
While things may still be good between Mariah and JAY, she has seemingly parted ways with Roc Nation after three and a half years. She is no longer listed on the company’s website and is said to have already begun “talking to other managers and thinks she has found someone who she feels has full belief in her.”
She is reportedly working on a “heavily R&B-influenced album” as well as an accompanying world tour for next year.
