Missy Elliott just shook the world up and gave long-adoring fans what they’ve been waiting years for!
The Hip Hop Titan just eclipsed the highly-anticipated solar eclipse on Monday by announcing her first-ever headlining tour!
The announcement of the “Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience” tour came just hours ahead of the solar eclipse phenomenon.
The tour will also feature Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland. launch July 4 and will visit 24 cities before wrapping up in August.
“This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts.’ Being the FIRST female Hip Hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now going out on my FIRST headline tour,” Elliott says in a statement. “Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family! So get ready to be taken OUT OF THIS WORLD with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with the fans!”
Live Nation is producing the tour alongside Elliott’s longtime manager, Mona Scott-Young; the legendary and Grammy-winning music video director and frequent Missy collaborator, Dave Meyers; famed celebrity stylist June Ambrose, and creative director Hi-Hat also worked on the tour.
