Today (Jan. 16) would have been the 41st birthday of the dearly departed Aaliyah, and some of her dear friends took to social media to celebrate 19 years since her passing.
Aaliyah’s good friends and collaborators Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Tank joined fans by taking to social media to share their favorite Aaliyah songs, images and memories.

Meanwhile, frustrated fans took to social media to also share their disappointment in Aaliyah’s music not being available on streaming services–despite rumors last month that her entire catalog would hit all digital retailers and streamers on her birthday.
The rumors started from a tweet from an unconfirmed account believed to be the singer’s Uncle, Barry Hankerson. The alleged account has been known to post various things over the years that pan out to be true and has long been known as a fake page.
Nevertheless, fans are not happy.
Where is this #Aaliyah music we were promise would be on all streaming platforms today?

Happy Birthday #Aaliyah you’re truly missed by all, but am I mistaken or wasn’t her discography supposed to be released on streaming right about now? pic.twitter.com/eleMfoyVRs
